Stephanie's Birthday

We had a lot of fun on Saturday. We started off the day with a yummy breakfast! We invited our good friends, the Bastians, over for breakfast. I made homemade Waffles, and Tina made Yummy eggs and Bacon! It was so much fun with both families wishing me a happy birthday, and lots of hugs from kids! I wish I would have taken pictures, but I forgot. We were just having too much fun!
A little later that day, we went to the Horse Stable on Fort Gordon. They were having a military appreciation day. They had free pony rides for the kids. Free lunch, a bouncy house, raffle prizes, and a nice big playground for the kids! They must have known it was my birthday, because I won two of the raffle prizes(worth over $80), and I got balloons and even a pony ride. Not really, I would never do that to the poor animal, but I did win the prizes!

The kids loved riding the ponies! They each got to ride the ponies at least 3 times. Elizabeth couldn't wait to ride the biggest one. She was so excited!
Karlee was so into the ponies and the people walking around with them that I had a hard time getting her to look at the camera! Finally, after many failed attempts, we got a good picture!
Karlee is also nicknamed "Monkey Girl." A nickname that I think was started by their uncle Darrin. It is a very appropriate name for her, because she loves the monkey bars and she has the blisters on her hands to prove it. Her teacher at school has even made her take a break for a day to let her hands heal! Here she is in action!
Jordan really liked the pony rides, but not as much as the girls. He discovered the tether ball, and we had a good game going until Daddy came and wasn't as easy on him as I was. Jordan also wanted to do the monkey bars, but he had to get a little help from Mommy!
The kids had a wonderful time, and they got to do something that they love even more than pony rides. They got to play with Daddy. Their favorite game is where Daddy chases them at the playground, and then they chase him. Erik is really good at getting away from the kids. It is not an easy job. He really gets a work out.
Aren't they cute! After that we went home for a little and rested. Then Erik and I went out to eat. We were going to go miniature golfing, but it started to rain while we were eating, so we ending up spending the rest of the time shopping for Karlee's Birthday party next week. It was a great day!
Thanks to all of you who called to wish me a happy birthday! Thanks for helping to make my birthday a special one!
