Project Playroom

We (as in the kids and I) have decided (while Erik was gone...mahahahahah) to re-do the playroom. There were a few things in there that the kids no longer played with and were only taking up space. The kids are getting older and are a little more responsible when it comes to crafts and such, so we decided to update the playroom to accommodate more things for their age level. I told them the first thing that we had to do was to pick a color theme, so off we went to the store to find the curtains that would create our theme. My kids got dragged to, I kid you not, about 8 stores in search of something that we could all agree on and something that would NOT break the bank! After all the craft/fabric stores we ended up finding our curtains at Walmart of all places! We all love them and the colors allow us to have some fun. After finding the curtains, we had a little bit of fun at the Dollar store. I LOVE the dollar store, AND I love all the crafting/creative blogs that I have recently discovered. Put those two together and amazing things can happen. We just barely got our stuff yesterday, and I got the curtains up today, so it's a work in progress, but I figured I would let you know what we are up too. (And it would get the people off my back who are mad at me for not updating our blog...hehehe :-/ sorry about that BTW)

Here are all the Dollar store things that I found to go along with our color theme, or things that will go along after a little paint! OK, the clock was from Walmart, but it was only $5.
Can I just reiterate again how much I love the dollar store. I was looking at fake flowers in Walmart and would have had to pay at least $5 for a bunch of flowers, but I found these at our Dollar tree for $1. Aaahhhhhh, Love it! Especially if a child destroys them, it's not a big loss!

We already started one of the projects. Elizabeth was helping me, but we were only able to do two of them. I still have to find the right color paint for the other two!
If you have ever read my Furniture Blog, you would know how much I love Krylon Paint! Love it!!!! I just wish the store carried all the colors that they have on their website! As soon as I find the other colors, we are really gonna have some fun!

Have any great ideas about ways to decorate the playroom, let me know. Always looking for inspiration. Eventually I will show you the reason for the Crepe paper! There is a reason, believe it or not, and no, it's not for using like streamers!
