Elizabeth is home sick again today, so I thought I would take advantage of my time at home this morning to update.
So we finished the Master Bathroom AND the Master Bedroom since I last updated on home improvements. Of course, this was all done a good 2-3 weeks ago, I'm just slow. Also, Erik had Monday off so we did a few more finishing touches on the quarter round and transitions. It's really start to come together! FINALLY!
So for those of you who did not know about our wonderful Master Bath project, let me say that the builders were LAZY! Not only did they "cut corners", but they put floor to ceiling wall paper in a bathroom! That's right...floor to ceiling wallpaper in a hot, steamy BATHROOM! Might I also mention that they are vaulted ceilings! Yeah...great fun! If it had not have been for the fact that the kids started ripping a part of the paper off that was already coming off, I never would have attempted anything like this. That being said...Enjoy the pictures of our progress!
This is what it was looking like at the seams...all over the bathroom.
This was the 1st section I ever attempted (
back in September), it took me 3 hours to get this small section off, and it left damage to the dry wall, so I got frustrated and stopped. After we did the kitchen and removed the wallpaper there, we found the trick that would work for us, and THANK GOODNESS, it went A LOT faster.

It was a lot of work, but with Erik and I working together, it went much faster.
Then we had to re-mud to cover any damage to the dry wall.
Then comes the primer, which FYI is the worst smelling stuff EVER!!!
Then came the paint. YEAH, almost done!!!!!
Of course, by now the kids were begging to get in on the "fun"!
And once again, there is my wonderful husband, plugging along while I'm taking pictures...AGAIN.
So after all the apinting was done, I realized I had a problem with the shower. It no longer had a backsplash, since we had to take off the old one and it no longer worked, so off to Lowe's I went AGAIN. And this is what I came up with.
(Originally I wanted to put up a tile back splash, but I never learned how and needed something right then.) 
If you are wondering what the baby gate is doing there, I was using it to keep it in place while the glue dried. It worked great! Sometimes you have to be creative and think outside the box!:)
And now the final product:
So you might have noticed the lack of color in these pictures, that's because I have to get all new towels and stuff. The color on the walls didn't turn out the way I wanted, and my old towels look really bad with it, so I took them out for the pictures. Chances are, since we will be moving in the next 6 months, I may never get towels to match, but if I did they would be dark blue to match the rugs...that I did get.
