Uh...I think we found the snow.

We woke up this morning to this:
My super scientific method of measuring said almost 6 inches.

The kids only lasted outside for about 15 minutes.
I wasn't able to get any good pictures of the kids playing because I have been sick and didn't go outside. Besides, they really weren't out long enough for me to even get ready. I was lucky to get this much.

Here's something you Utahns will enjoy.
We have just been informed that church is cancelled for tomorrow. Now before you start spouting off about how pathetic that is, you have to understand that this part of the country just doesn't have the resources to clear the snow to make the roads safe. It's a precaution to keep us safe from those that insist on driving in conditions that they can't handle. Besides that it's suppose to freeze tonight and then snow on top of that, and that creates real dangers.

So...??? Where is it?

It's Friday, and my kids are home. We were supposed to get a whole bunch of snow. (Snow or Ice according to my Dad's unwavering diligence watching the weather channel in my behalf.)

So all the schools flat out canceled school for today and put non-essential personnel on a 2 hour delay.
This morning when we woke up anticipating snow, this is what we found.

Nothing.

Not even rain.

On a happier note, here is a picture of the beautiful flowers that my wonderful husband sent to me for our anniversary. It was a total surprise when the doorbell rang and there on the porch was a box full of 2 dozen roses...oooh and chocolate...good chocolate!

And here they are today after they opened up just a little more.
Minus the chocolate. Obviously.
And this was just for fun.
Have a good one!

All those years ago...

...it started out like this:
Our first date!

Which eventually led to this:

Which, in turn, has landed us here:
I'd say the years have been good to us!

Happy Anniversary!
It has been a wonderful 11 years, and I hope to have many, many more too come!

Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!

If you haven't figured it out yet, IT"S SNOWING! That's right only 7 hours north of Atlanta and it's snowing, in fact I hear that Atlanta may get hit with some snow as well.

The kids are super excited. They delayed the start of school for 2 hours, and of course, by 7 am the kids were up and dressed and bugging me to go outside...I was still asleep, or trying to sleep anyway. (I practically have to drag them out of bed at 7:30 to go to school on a regular day.) Here are a few pictures to prove my claim!
Karlee doing a snow angel.

Jordan getting more ammo.

Jordan trying to get Lizzy with a snow ball.

After they played outside for a while we had hot chocolate and a nice warm breakfast. Afterwards they started doing their "snow dance" so that it would snow harder and they wouldn't have to go to school at all today. We shall see if it worked.

I uploaded the wrong video, the video above was after the original snow dance. To see the original snow dance with my attempt at a lame narration watch the one below.

Update: The dance apparently did not work, for they had to go to school anyways. Better luck next time kids!
