Back to School!!!!

Today is the first day of school. I am sitting here blogging because I can! There is no yelling. No fighting. No one is constantly reminding me that they are bored! No more arguing about whose turn it is on the computer, or how long they have been on the computer. No more trying to figure out what to feed them for lunch, even though we went to the school for the free summer lunches! Now there isn't anymore complaining about going to the school for lunch!
Alright, it wasn't too bad. The kids were pretty good this summer. Our main problem was the fact that it was SOOOOOO hot that it was hard to do much, without it costing money anyways. We swam at a friends house most of the time, and hung out and played with friends and at home. So when the summer was coming to a rapid end, I decided it was time for a little fun.

On Monday we went to Tie Breakers Water Park. It was hot. It was crowded. I sought out the shade wherever I could find it, but the kids had a blast! Didn't take any pictures though. Sorry.

On Tuesday, we went to a place called Jump Zone. It was AWESOME!!! The kids had a blast.
I only managed to get these two pictures before my camera battery completely died! My friend got some pictures for me, so hopefully I will have a few more. This place was awesome though. Every single inflatable had something cool about it. No plain old bouncy houses here. One had two basketball hoops inside. Other were mazes with slides, or bouncy houses also. This Kracken one in the pictures was the tallest slide and the kids just zipped down it super fast. I was really happy with this place. Unfortunately, it was not air conditioned enough there for all the crazy, wild kids running around, so they were hot and desperately thirsty the whole time. Afterwards we went to Burger King and got lunch then went to Wendy's for a Frosty. It was "the best day ever!" according to the kids! I'm not sure, but I thinking that was the Frosty talking!

On Wednesday we went to the free movie at the Local theater. We saw King Fu Panda. We've seen it a million times, but it never gets old. I love that show!!! Then they gave us free Chick-fil-a coupons as we were leaving, so headed over there for lunch. After lunch we spent the rest of the day with friends, playing and eating Pizza! Good times. Hopefully I made up for the "boring" summer in these last few days!

Today, they went back to school. Sort of a bitter sweet moment. I'm super happy that I can go exercise again. I can go grocery shopping and not have to worry about kids BEGGING for this and that, and trying to put things in the cart while I am not looking. I can run errands and be in and out...or take my time without having to worry about kids running around, or breaking things, or annoying the employees! However, I do love my kids and I enjoy spending time with them. I always feel like during the school year they are gone so much, but then after the week-end I am ready for them to go back! ;-)
The mound of school supplies I was organizing last night. This only about 60% of what was on their lists. I don't like to buy EVERYTHING, until I get the word from the teachers about what they really need.
So anyways, here they are. Super excited to get back to being entertained for 7 hours straight...and not by their boring Mom!
Backpacks at the ready!
No, it's not foggy. It was so humid when we went outside that it fogged up my camera lens. Dang humidity!!
Loaded down with school supplies! Walking to the school.

We found Jordan's teacher pretty easy, but couldn't find the others teachers, so I just ended up taking them inside.

Karlee is all ready to go!

Didn't get a picture of Lizzy in her class. I thought about it, but by the time we dropped off the other two, Lizzy's class had already settled in their classroom and were quiet. I didn't think she would want me forcing her to pose for a picture with her entire class watching. I mean she is in 4th grade now, and that is totally NOT COOL! I wouldn't want to be a NOT COOL mom! ;-)

Now I am going to go enjoy a nice quiet lunch with my hubby, because I can!!! Have a good one!
